What is a Registered Agent?
A registered agent is an individual or company appointed to accept legal and financial documents on behalf of a business. In Wyoming, companies are required to designate a registered agent whose name and address will be filed with the Secretary of State. Think of a Wyoming registered agent as the public-facing messenger for your business, ensuring that you can operate independently while remaining compliant with the state.
A Wyoming company is required to have a registered agent who can meet the following criteria:
- have a physical street address in Wyoming
- maintain typical business hours
- receive legal and financial documents on behalf a company and forward those documents to the company immediately
That’s exactly what we do: fulfill a legal requirement for a wide range of Wyoming businesses by facilitating communication between them and the state. We maintain regular business hours in Sheridan, WY, and we employ local members of the community who are ready to receive and forward service of process for the businesses we represent. We have no stake in either the companies we represent or the state—we are simply a gateway for doing business in Wyoming.
